AL Elevation’s purpose is to level the playing field between state and private school education in the UK.
We recognise that an outstanding education must include the development of social capital, enabling students to progress confidently into higher education and future careers. This is achieved through access to a wide range of best-in-class co-curricular activities across the schools we support.
AL Elevation was established by Andrew Law in 2016 and is wholly funded by AL Philanthropies. We sponsor the Laurus Trust, a Multi Academy Trust of 17 state schools across Greater Manchester. Our aim is to raise attainment and develop well-rounded students, creating a template for state schools nationwide.
Talent is universal, opportunity is not. Education is the most powerful sustaining bridge to close that gap, ensuring potential is never limited by family background or ability to pay.

Sponsored by AL Elevation since 2016, the Laurus Trust is a Multi Academy Trust comprising 17 state primary, secondary, and sixth-form schools across Greater Manchester.

Its founder school is Cheadle Hulme High School (CHHS), which Andrew Law attended. It remains the flagship school of the Trust, and is now one of the region’s most oversubscribed schools, judged Outstanding by Ofsted and consistently ranked among the top schools nationally, helping set the high standards for which the Trust is known.
AL Elevation provides the resources and facilities our schools need to deliver best-in-class co-curricular programmes, supported by a longer school day that enables students to access a wide range of activities.
While such opportunities are common in private schools, most state schools lack the funding to provide them — making our role essential. These activities strengthen students’ confidence, resilience, sense of belonging, and motivation, empowering them to engage fully in their education and future.
Teachers are central to this success. AL Elevation supports their professional development through a dedicated Master’s programme, helping to sustain high-quality provision and long-term impact across our schools.
